Indoor Greenhouses Always a Good Idea! My Setup!

I’m so excited to have gotten my new greenhouse a few days ago. I’m not sure why it took so long for me to get my plants all setup into their new home environment but I can tell you I already can see they are going to LOVE the high humid and higher temp and well-lit environment I have set for this space. I’m sure I’ll change out a lot of them but I’m placing a lot of my rare androids and philodendrons as well as rehabbing high maintenance Caletheas that about died after being treated for mites. As some of you may know their leaves are super sensitive and hate neem! A lot of my leaves got burned so I’m hoping they are going to eventually come back. We’ll see.

I do have a new organic pesticide that works on all my plants that no longer is an issue with burning or damaging or being too harsh on a plant. I’m super thrilled to have found something else that works.

Onto the greenhouses that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The first that I have listed is the one that I got…It’s an actual walk-in one…I liked it because it has two sets of shelves and the middles are great to be able to add additional plants of course! However, I know not everyone has the space for this size so I am providing links to smaller sized options that are ones I would def purchase because of the high reviews and price points.

Let me know in the comments if you have purchased one and what you think of yours! I already had the lights for my greenhouse and humidifier reader I only need a fan to help circulate the very humid air. It’s measuring around 80 which is wild because the rest of my house is in the 50 range. I’m excited to see the results of how well the plants do in this new setup. Here is a TikTok Video of my son putting it together. I’ll have a second video of it being filled soon!

I have a combo of lights for my greenhouse but I have these purples ones for the shelf area and the bigger white light I had purchased from Costco. However, I did buy some long light ones that would work very well for this, and I have a set of 12 of them being used for my shelving units that house a majority of my plants for this winter.

The first couple that show are ones that I use the rest are ones I would also consider because of high reviews and good price points.

Air Layer Propagation Must Haves

If you follow me on TikTok you’d know the success I’ve been having with my air layering. I wanted to go over in better detail what I use to be able to achieve this method of propagation. For me, it just makes sense not having to worry about stem rotting with water propagation. There is a lot less risk involved.

Leca Introduction For Beginners

I am fairly new to using Leca Medium for my plants but I wanted to share with you what I’ve learned and will continue to add more as my knowledge grows over time. As you may know, if you follow me on TikTok, I’ve purchased a nice size 10 Liter bag off of Amazon and have been able to convert about 20 plants over to Leca. Some of the plants are brand new to being transferred over to this medium but there are ones that have been in this medium for well over a month or so. I can say they are all still alive and appear to be happy. Being that I have over 120 plants and counting…I don’t have any plans of converting all my plants to this medium but so far like to do with ones I feel are still developing a solid root system or ones that have a tendency to get root rot because of heavier water needs.

Etsy Shops I Love To Buy Plants From

COMING SOON!

Here is a list of Online Plant Shops I love. Most listed will be from Etsy but there will be others that I’ll be happy to share here from the other websites and apps I purchase from.

It’s all about having a great experience when purchasing online and I feel that it’s important to connect those that are looking at the stores that are can be trusted and are mention-worthy.

I’ll also like my other lists, do my best to keep this updated as time progresses.

I am taking the time to put these lists together and I also want to make sure you are getting from the exact ones that are from what I purchased and not look-alikes. Let me know if there are any suggestions you’d like for me to add! I will be doing my best to keep this updated constantly! (Simply click on the images to be directed directly to the item.)

Also note: Prices may change at any time. These are just currently what they are and what I paid for them at that time.

Through the Storm

If you are here then it is my guess you are wanting to know more about my motive and reason for selling my current items on my website.

I feel this isn’t my story to share. It’s my brother and his family’s story and when they are ready I am sure it will be told. From the perspective of where I stand though I can say there are ripple effects of trauma felt deeply ever since the day I found out…my brother and his family were brutally attacked and robbed. I can’t tell you the number of tears I’ve shed over these what otherwise seem to be simple words…only words…but combined with a force that one can’t begin to imagine. I have to back up a bit and tell you a little more about who my brother is and what his family does every day.

Get Great Deals & Finds on Plants Online

Over the course of my newest obsession with plant collecting…I’ve discovered the hot spots of where to find good deals on very popular and rarer plants. Although keep in mind you are often getting what you pay for so if you are paying less for a plant it is often because it is cutting or a starter plant. I’ve never gotten a full-sized large plant online because I’ve never found a price point where I would feel comfortable spending yet. Mind you I’m still learning plants as this new venture in my life so all of this is still fairly new to me. I’ve just happened to learn a lot in the short time I’ve started collecting this year.

Finding A Pink Princess Philodendron

Over the course of the past couple of days, I got it in my head I “needed” a Pink Princess Philodendron. So my search began….I knew there was a better chance of me winning the lotto than finding one at any of my local nurseries, so I resorted to searching online. In doing so, I uncovered an underlying addiction to plant buying. I discovered quickly that it was going to be a nearly impossible feat in being able to find one under $200-$300. I looked into all the sources online and even found NEW apps to be able to buy plants from. YIKES, and did I ever find some plants. In my search and discovery of these new apps…I came across so many…(what it appeared to me) to be incredible deals of plants on my want list and plants I didn’t know were on my want list for exceptional prices. I say exceptional pricing lightly because they were still a lot of money for the rarer ones…but far less expensive than the going rate I was finding everywhere else.

Quarantine & TikTok has me Obsessing Over Plants

I know I’m not the ONLY person to find this new addition, habit or hobby. I find myself literally obsessing and changing my entire daily routine to be about my PLANTS. I might have developed an issue as it’s gotten so bad. I can’t seem to find myself to want to think about much else…plants I want to buy…plants that I’m buying online…and checking on my plants and cuttings and leaves and soil and fertilizers and moisture levels. It’s a bit crazy but my thought process…if it’s easing my way through the extreme changes of what is going on around us then what’s it really hurting.
